NY Man Accused of Burning Cat in Oven

Just a horrible story.

It took place in Batavia, New York, which is in Genesee County.

According to WTEN, police were called to an apartment complex after a fire alarm went off in the complex, and when they arrived on the scene they discovered that in the apartment of one of the complex's residents there was smoke coming from the kitchen.

After investigating, police determined that the smoke was coming from the kitchen of 42 year old Darren Annovi and determined that the smoke was a result of a cat being in the oven that was turned on.

Police arrested the man and charged him with animal cruelty.

Annovi was arrested and sent to the Genesee County Jail and will be due back in court on today.

Police did not release any information on the cat.
