Wild Fire Spreads Closer to Greenwood Lake New York
To say we are under a fire warning is, to say the least. There are numerous fires currently burning throughout New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut and one has taken the life of a Forest Ranger.
There are so many fires burning across the Hudson Valley and in neighboring areas, it is really hard to keep track. Earlier tonight First Due Weather from the Compound shared some graphics that help give a better idea of everything that is burning.
How Many Brush and Forrest Fires are Burning in the Hudson Valley

First Due Weather from the Compound shared a very detailed description of what was going on with the various fires early Saturday evening. There is a lot of information in the post including the sad news that the NYS DEC Forest Ranger Lost their life today fighting a fire. Details and the Rangers name have not been released out of respect to family and friends.

Due to the weather, the fire story is continuing to unfold. Fighters will be at these blazes for a while some are barely contained. The hope is that the expected rain arrives and help with the efforts to put out the flames. Late Saturday Afternoon residence in Greenwood Lake New York watched as flames came over the mountain from New Jersey.
Orange County New York County Executive Steve Neuhaus Gives a Fire Update
Orange County Executive Steve Neuhaus also gave an update tonight. He had been to the fire scenes in Orange County including Greenwood Lake and wanted to share information with people who may be watching and seeing things unfold quickly on social media. He has promised to have more updates at a later time.
