The popular amusement park is preparing to open on Saturday, May 17th at 11 a.m. and will operate on a limited schedule. The park will be open daily starting on Thursday, June 19th, but before you go this year, you should be aware that they have a new park policy that might affect your visit.

Policy Change at Great Escape

According to the park's Facebook page, they have introduced a new commitment at the park this year to promote a healthier, safer, and more welcoming environment. To support this commitment, the park announced that they have adopted a new smoking policy for 2025.

Great Escape is Now Smoke-Free

The new policy states that smoking will not be permitted inside the park, including e-cigarettes and vapes. They will offer smokers a designated smoking area between the front entrance and the metal detection area.

Six Flags prohibits smoking marijuana at any time, even in the designated smoking area.

Soon after posting the new policy, fans began to leave comments, with some in favor of the change saying it's about time the park did something like this, with others disagreeing. One person commented, "Ridiculous. There are plenty of spots in the park that are far away from kids and adults alike, that could keep designated smoking spots."

Others commented that maybe the park should be "alcohol free" as well.
