This is the time of year when a lot of us focus on giving back. There are many in our community who could use our help and this month the New Paltz Cub Scout Pack 272 is going to be doing their part and hopes you can support their Scouting for Food event.

On Saturday, November 14th the New Paltz Cub Scout pack 272 will be collecting non-perishable food to help feed local families. The donations they receive and collect will go to the St. Joseph's Families of New Paltz Food Pantry. The food drive is from 9 AM to 12 PM on Saturday the 14th but they will also be collecting food in advance. There are two ways to donate.

The first way you can donate is by accepting a bag that the cub scouts will deliver to your home this weekend which you then in turn fill up. Once you have done that you can leave it on your doorstep for pick up on the 14th. The second way to donate is to stop in to Rycor in New Paltz at 135 North Chestnut Street on Saturday the 14th while they hold the drive in drop off Scouting for Food event from 9 AM to 12 Noon.

If you chose to drive in and drop off at Rycor it will be super easy for you donate. Rycor plans to have tables set up in the parking lot so you can simply drive in to the parking lot and hand over the donation no matter how big or how small. Everything will be greatly appreciated.

If you are in need of assistance the St Joseph Food Pantry is located in New Paltz at St. Joseph's Church on South Chestnut Street. It is open Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 11 AM  to Noon. Come by the church hall during those time with a photo ID and you can collect assistance once a month.

If you want to drop off food or make a monetary donation you can stop by at above times as well. You can also leave food at the church vestibule or near the back doors. If you are sending a check please put food pantry in the memo line.
