
Neighbors Complain About Drug Activity in Poughkeepsie
The City of Poughkeepsie Police Department has announced multiple arrests after receiving "drug activity" complaints from the public in Poughkeepsie, New York.
The City of Poughkeepsie Police Department, along with the Poughkeepsie SWAT Team, the City of Poughkeepsie Neighborhood Recovery Unit, the Detective Division, Patrol, and the New York State Police (NYSP) recently executed a search warrant at a building in Poughkeepsie, NY leading to multiple arrests.
Drug Activity in Poughkeepsie, New York
Police said that on February 5, 2025, multiple agencies executed a search warrant at 641 Main St, Apartment 4, after investigating "narcotics activity" at the residence. They didn't say when the investigation started but did say that it began in response to numerous public complaints about drug activity at the residence. Once the investigation was completed, a search warrant was issued for the residence, and police executed it on Wednesday.
Search Warrant Executed in Poughkeepsie, NY
As officers entered the residence they encountered twelve individuals inside the small apartment atop the three-story building. Police said that all of the occupants were "detained without incident" and that as officers searched the apartment they discovered two handguns, a quantity of narcotics, and various materials that are often associated with the sale and distribution of drugs.

The following six individuals were arrested at the scene and charged with various crimes:
- Guy Ryan - Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd, two (2) counts of Criminal
- Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd.
- Justin Ellis - Two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd.
- Imari Brown and Donny Daniels - Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th.
- Alyssa Davis and Tasha Johnson were arrested on pre-existing bench warrants issued by the City of Poughkeepsie Court.
The investigation into drug activity at the residence is still ongoing according to police. Police also said, "The public’s assistance was instrumental in the investigation of these crimes" and encouraged community members who suspect drug activity in their neighborhood to submit anonymous tips by calling the department’s tip line at (845) 451-7577.
