We all know the big national holidays, Memorial Day, July Fourth, Veteran's Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, etc., but did you know that there are anywhere between 40-75 ''National Day of ' holidays every month? Holidays like National Day of Purple, National Day of People Born on rainy Thursdays, you get the idea. It's odd but strangely true.

Take this weekend for instance, while we are all waiting to see how much snow we either get or don't get, there's 6 National Days we can all enjoy and even celebrate. Here's your guide for the weekend.

January 22 is National Blonde Brownie Day, so if instead of dark or milk chocolate, you are a bigger fan of white chocolate, molasses, or butterscotch, this is your day. Here's a video recipe to help you celebrate in style.

January 23 has two National Days to have fun with. The first is National Pie Day, created by the American Pie Council. You can join in the fun with #nationalpieday on social media. It's sole purpose is to celebrate pie, any kind of pie, chocolate cream, cherry, apple, coconut, it doesn't matter, just bake one up or defrost one from the freezer and enjoy! Here's a recipe for one of my favorites, Key Lime Pie.

You can also celebrate National Handwriting Day on January 23,and was established by the Writing Instrument Manufacturers Association in 1977. The day is to promote the use of pen and paper, to re-introduce folks to hand writing letters, cards, journals, anything that uses paper, ink, and your own unique handwriting. Here's what your handwriting may say about you.

January 24 has 3 special National Days to celebrate, starting with National Compliment Day, created in 1988 by 2 people from New Hampshire as a way to brighten someone's day and pass a smile on. #Nationalcomplimentday on social media will connect you with others celebrating and complimenting all day too. It's amazing how much of a difference even a small compliment can make to someone.

January 24 is also National Peanut Butter Day. Whether you like chunky, creamy, mixed with jelly or marshmallow cream. Skippy, Jif, storebrands, or organic, enjoy some peanut butter on Sunday. Here's a no-bake recipe for Chocolate Peanut Butter bars that will make the day extra sweet.

There's one more National Day to celebrate on Sunday, and depending on how much snow you get where you are, it could be your favorite. It's National Beer Can Appreciation Day, no fooling. It was created to recognize and honor the day that beer was first put in cans back in 1935, changing tail gate parties forever. This is, apparently, the largest collection of beer cans in the world.
