Mother’s Day Dilemma
Should this mom be upset?
Every week on the Wakin' Up with CJ and Jess Show we do what we can to help out a fellow Wolf listener who is dealing with an issue that they need some advice with. We call it "We Gotcha Wednesday" so join us as we dim the lights, light a candle and open up or email for the weeks dilemma that has to do with celebrating Mother's Day.
A Hudson Valley mom wrote us,
"Mother’s Day is on Sunday, and my husband hasn’t said anything about us doing anything special. I know we really can't but he hasn’t even mentioned or asked me about anything I would like as a gift. I’m pregnant with our first child, but I’m not due until June. I thought as we got close to moms day he’d want to be doing nice things for me, and spoiling me since this is my first Mother’s Day, and our first child. I said something to him and he said “the baby isn’t here yet so you’re not a mother yet.” He said it sort of sarcastic but it really hurt me. He also said that he isn’t a dad yet and doesn’t expect anything on Fathers Day. I don’t see it that way at all. I mean we are parents, right? I’m carrying our child in my tummy, that makes me a mom. Even though my baby isn’t born yet, shouldn’t I still be celebrated this Mother’s Day?"
Should a mom expecting her first child after mother's day celebrate? Any mom's or dad's have any advice for this mom? Have any mom's gone through a situation like this? If so share your story by calling or texting us through the Wolf app.
Happy Mother's Day to each and every Hudson Valley mom!
