Meet Wolf Den of Heroes March Inductee Kenneth Wallace

The Wolf Den of Heroes gives us here at The Wolf the opportunity to celebrate the first responders in our Hudson Valley community.

They're the ones who drop everything to provide life-saving services to their neighbors or lend a helping hand to those in need.

This month our Wolf Den of Heroes inductee is Kenneth Wallace.

Kenneth's wife, Georgina Wallace, wrote to us the following when nominating her husband for The Wolf Den of Heroes:

Kenneth has been a volunteer Firefighter/EMT for 27 years. He joined in his teen years! He is committed to the pleasant valley firehouse. Ken is currently the captain. He leaves his family a moments time to save lives. We were recently stopped in our local grocery where a woman thanked him for saving her life! That to me a true hero!

This is what the Wolf Den of Heroes is all about! Kenneth, along with all of our other nominees and inductees, are your neighbors who you may see shopping at your local grocery store who go out of their way to save a life.

Kenneth joined us on The Wakin' Up with CJ and Jess show and recalled the story mentioned above adding that this has happened more than once and that he doesn't remember every save, but it's a great feeling knowing he has impacted someone's life in such an important way.

Thanks to our friends at Mental Health America of Dutchess County we're able to gift Kenneth a $250 Visa gift card.

Pleasant Valley Fire Department Hosting Fund Raiser This April

If you'd like to support the Pleasant Valley Fire Department, Kenneth told us about a fun and easy way to do so.

They'll be hosting a fundraiser on Sunday, April 7th, 2024 at The Bar on West & Main. For $30 (advanced ticket price, $40 at the door) guests can enjoy All You Can Eat Wings and All You Can Drink Soda and Beer.

Take a Look Inside the Abandoned Bowling Ally in the Staatsburg Firehouse

The Old Staastburg Firehouse (now Roosevelt Engine Co 5.) houses an abandoned bowling ally. Local Hudson Valley firefighters tell us that they believe the bowling ally was created back in the 50s and was used until the early 90s.
