Wolf Den of Heroes February Inductee: Kailee Godoy

We're giving the spotlight and $250 Visa Gift Card to a local Hudson Valley first responder with the Wolf Den of Heroes.

What is The Wolf Den of Heroes?

For the last few months, we've collected local first responders' nominations. Since the beginning of The Wakin' Up with CJ and Jess Show almost 10 years ago, we have tried to find a way to give the spotlight to our first responders.

We came up with The Wolf Den of Heroes as a way for community members, friends, and family to nominate the First Responders in their lives.

Each month we randomly pick a First Responder and give them a $250 Visa Gift Card from our friends at Mental Health America Dutchess County.

This month our Wolf Den of Heroes inductee is Kailee Godoy.

Wolf Den of Heroes February Inductee: Kailee Godoy

We received a nomination for Kailee Godoy from her mother Tammy. In the nomination, Tammy explains that Kailee has been volunteering since she was 16 years old with the Mountain Lodge Park Fire Company, which is a branch of the Salisbury Mills Fire Department.

Tammy writes:

She was born into a first responder family. I'm an EMT, and her dad, grandfather, uncle, and many others are fire fighters. When Kailee turned 16 she joined the Ladies Auxiliary, then when she turned 17 she joined the "men's" side to become a firefighter. On her first day she responded to 18 storm-related calls. Since then Kaileen has been to mvas structure fires, among various other calls."

She explained that Kailee is now taking her Firefighter 1 Class to become an interior firefighter and added "Needless to say I'm beyond proud of my daughter."

Kailee joined us in the studio this week and told us she had dreamt of being a firefighter since she was a young girl and will never forget her first day as a volunteer during those storm-related calls.
