Sensational Small Theatres Showing Films in the Hudson Valley
Well, another big weekend at the box office and I can say I haven't been near a theatre this year. It was not intentional. Life just got in the way of me going to the movies.
Barbie is still on my watch list and now I guess I must add Taylor Swift. I do enjoy going to the theatre to see a movie I am truly a big screen fan. I would miss it if all the theatres closed.
Small Independent Theatres in the Hudson Valley
As much as I love going to the bigger theatres like the New Paltz Cinemas in New Platz with heated seats and real butter on my popcorn my real joy is seeing a film in a small venue. I do like the occasional drive-in but the community lawn showing has always been more my thing.

I like when you can sit in a small space and enjoy a movie. The Bardavon Theatre in Poughkeepsie shows films every so often as a matter of fact this month they have Nosferatu slated for Saturday, October 28, 2023.
Small Theatres that Show Films in the Hudson Valley
Other small Hudson Valley theatres are also showing films every weekend. The Rosendale Theatre in Rosendale has a great lineup this month including The Haunting part of its Classic Films Series.
The newest Theatre to introduce a film series is the Denizen Theatre at Water Street Market. Originally designed as a black box theatre it is now hosting a Fall Film Series entitled Truth Or Consequences. The next film in the series is a horror film.
Denizen Theatre in New Paltz Now Showing Films
The Deeper You Dig will be shown at the Denizen this weekend and the filmmaker and start Zelda Adams will be on hand for a Q&A both Friday and Saturday night after the film.
The Denizen has not only created this film series but they have also partnered with businesses at Water Street Market to offer a complete experience. The Parish Restaurant offers a special menu for filmgoers so you can make a night of it with dinner and a movie. Advance tickets and reservations are strongly suggested.
