Starting in the fall of 2017 some Hudson Valley counties will be eligible for discounts prices to enroll at Western Connecticut State University. West Conn is a state school in Danbury, Connecticut and residents from Dutchess, Ulster, Westchester, Rockland,Putnam, Orange and Sullivan counties will be able to pay in state tuition.

Hudson Valley residents that plan on going to Western Connecticut State University would pay the in-state tuition of $10,017 as opposed to the out-of-state tuition of $22,878. West Conn's President John Clark said in a statement that he invites Hudson Valley residents to expand their college search by visiting their campus and take in the "same high-quality and affordable education as Connecticut residents enjoy."

Western Connecticut State University has over 30 bachelor programs including, communication, nursing and business. They also have a $97 million concert hall, art gallery, theater space and classroom facility.
