Hudson Valley School to Host Free U.S. Marine Band Concert
This great event happens this Friday at 7:30 p.m.
According to the Poughkeepsie Journal, "The President's Own" United States Marine Band is coming to John Jay Senior High School in Hopewell Junction.
The school, which is located at 2012 Route 52, has been selected to put on the show as part of a limited national concert tour. John Jay Principal Bonnie King told the Journal that, "We are so proud to be one of only 20 venues selected for this year's tour, it is a fairly competitive process, in that one needs to apply for their school to even be considered. Our band teacher, Mr. Banda, did a great job in applying for us."
The concert will take place this Friday October 20th at 7:30 p.m. at the High School and tickets for the event are sold out but the school has said that they will admit non ticket holders on a first come, first serve basis starting at 7:15 p.m. as long as seats are available.
If you plan on going to this great show, you can expect some great music as the Marine Band Director Col. Jason K. Fettig said he has selected a mix of programs for the performance at John Jay, from traditional band repertoire and Sousa marches to instrumental solos and a salute to the Armed Forces.
