The news broke late last week that one of New Paltz, New York's most iconic business was closing its doors. The Groovy Blueberry wasn't just a cool shop it was a destination for people visiting Ulster County.

After 26 years of being the place where people shopped for tie-dye and more, the owners of the shop have announced that they are "HAPPY to retire". They are looking forward to the next chapter.

Yes, your chance to buy products from this world-famous outlet is coming to an end. Originally, it looked like they were closing over the Thanksgiving weekend but now it seems that the "Bye Bye Sale" will continue. They have extended the sale through this week.

Merchandise is 50% off and they are even selling some of the store fixtures. As you can imagine people are scrambling to get into the shop before it closes for good. I will admit they were always my place to shop for gifts for family. Every baby I know has been given a tie-dye onesie from the Groovy Blueberry.

Many have reached out on Social Media to wish the Blueberry crew well as they move on. So many people commented that they shopped there every time they came to New Paltz. I will even miss the store for the fact that it never mattered what you bought it always had the Groovy Blueberry smell.

What is the New Business Moving Into the Groovy Blueberry

There has been a lot of speculation about what type of business might replace the Groovy Blueberry. Many have said they believe it will be a Cannabis Dispensary. That news has been met with mixed reviews.

One thing that can't be denied is that it is a great location that comes with plenty of parking. Stevens Real Estate has the listing and they claim it comes with 40 parking spaces. They have also hinted at who the new buyer may be and seem to think people will be excited about who it is.
