
American History Being Told Aboard the Amistad in Kingston New York
The Hudson Valley has a rich maritime history. Many people who live here don't realize how important places like Kingston, New York are to the history of the shipping industry in America.
The Hudson Valley Maritime Museum is preserving that history and creating events that make it come to life. Their current Movie "Seven Sentinels" about the remaining Hudosn River Light Houses is a fascinating film that has added dates due to its popularity.
Hudson Valley Maritime Museum Adds Showings to Seven Sentinels

If you have time this summer the Hudson River Maritime Museum (HRMM) is a fun place to stop in for interesting Hudson Valley History. They have new summer hours as of July 1, 2024. Hudson River Maritime Museum is now open Wednesday-Monday. 11 AM to 6 PM. Explore the museum plus check out the museum's shop for HRMM swag and unique, handcrafted local gifts!
The Amistad to Anchor in Kingston This Summer
The Amistad will be making a stop in Kingston this Summer. This replica of a historic ship teaches about enslaved Africans' fight for freedom. The HRMM will host the Amistad starting Saturday, August 1st through Wednesday, August 7th, 2024.
Guided tours will be available you can also enjoy a self-guided deck tour. Hudson Valley Federal Credit Union will host a Community Open Day on Wednesday, August 7th from 10 AM to 8 PM. Enjoy learning about the Amistad with a pay-what-you-can admission. A self-guided tour will run every half hour.
