A Hudson Valley man has received an award after jumping into action in Dutchess County.

Hudson Valley Man Inured in E-Scooter Accident in Beacon, NY

Back on February 27th, 2024, a man named Jared Hamburger was involved in a serious accident. It was 1:30 in the afternoon when Hamburger was injured while riding an e-scooter on Main Street in Beacon, New York.

The accident resulted in life-threatening injuries.

Thankfully, Jahkeem Galloway was nearby and jumped into action. According to New York State Senator Rob Rolison's Facebook page, Galloway witnessed the whole accident and ran towards Hamburger to help.

Senator Rolison explains in a social media post "Jahkeem witnessed the accident and immediately came to Jared's aid."

Adding that Jahkeem's quickness helped in Jared's recovery writing:

Thanks to his compassion and quick thinking, Jahkeem managed to keep Jared awake and alert, preventing him from getting up and potentially causing further harm, and stayed by his side until paramedics arrived. When kindness is the basis of community, great things can happen!

 

NY Senator Awards Hudson Valley Good Samaritan an Official Senate Proclamation

It's no surprise that Jahkeem Galloway was recently awarded for his quick action. Senator Rolison took to social media to announce that he "was proud to award an official Senate proclamation."

Rolison went on to call Galloway a "real-life Good Samaritan" and shared that Jared's wife Kelly Hamburger reached out to his office to help them connect with Galloway to give him this award.
