Poughkeepsie, New York Man Dies in Motorcycle Accident in Colorado
A Dutchess County man has died after a tragic accident in the Denver, Colorado area.

FOX31 in Denver, Colorado had been following a story about a motorcycle accident on Monday night June 17th, 2024. At the time, Sgt. Mike Farr of the Traffic Investigation Unit Denver Police told FOX31 that "officers arrived on scene to find a motorcyclist in distress" adding "the motorcyclist had collided with the back end of a roll-off dump truck."
The motorcyclist was later identified as 34-year-old Bobby Murphy, originally from Poughkeepsie, New York, and a Spackenkill High School graduate.

According to the reports, Murphy was on his way to the hospital as his current girlfriend was giving birth to his second child.
FOX 31 spoke with Murphy's godmother who confirmed that his girlfriend gave birth to a baby boy.
Fundraiser Created to Support Bobby Murphy's Family
After news of Murphy's untimely death became public knowledge, friends of the Murphy family jumped into action.
A GoFundMe was created by Michelle Tortarella, Murphy's Godmother, from Poughkeepsie, New York. On the donation site, Tortarella writes "Needless to say that we are all heartbroken but none more than his mother, Debbie Maggiacomo." Tortarella explains that Maggiacomo will be flying her son's remains back to Poughkeepsie adding:
The costs are quickly accumulating and Bobby did not have any life insurance or savings to pay for these expenses.
As of Tuesday, June 25th, 2024, $3,150 has been raised with a final goal of $20,000. Donations can be made on the GoFundMe website.
