If you would like to do some free fishing this event is for you.

According to the Daily Freeman, the New York State Department of Environmental Protection is throwing a fishing party at the Ashokan Reservoir in Ulster County this Sunday.

The event will take place Sunday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Woodstock Dike on the reservoir, with a parking lot off of Route 28, just east of the West Hurley Post Office.

If you have never gone fishing before this is a great chance for you to learn how to. The DEC will be providing fishing poles and bait for people that don't have any, if you do have your own gear, they are encouraging you to bring it.

For this event the state fishing licence requirement is waived. The DEC is asking that if you are planning to come to this event, you print out a free DEP Access Permit.

The DEP and DEC will have some of their staff on hand to help teach beginners. For more information you can call (800) 575-5263.
