Nickelodeon Star To Give SUNY Delhi Commencement Speech

SUNY Delhi took to social media this week to share the exciting news that actor Steve Burns will be delivering the 2024 Commencement Speech.

Burns is known for his work on Nickelodeon's kids show Blue's Clues. He was the first host of the show and left a lasting impression on children all across the world.

SUNY Delhi writes:

Steve has found a home right here in Delhi, NY, where he continues his decades-long career as a voiceover artist when he’s not writing and directing for the show Blue’s Clues and You.

Steve starred on Blue's Clues from 1996 until 2002. After his stint on the Nickelodeon children's show, he took a step out of the public eye. But then, came into popularity when millennials needed him the most. Check Steve, and the other Blue's Clues stars, in Blue's Big City Adventure:

He recently made a video checking in on Nickelodeon fans after the controversial documentary series "Quiet on Set" aired. The documentary spotlights accusations of alleged inappropriate behavior on the set of several Nickelodeon shows.

Fans of Steve Burns can watch the commencement live on the SUNY Delhi 2024 Commencement page. 

SUNY Delhi will take place on Saturday, May 18, 2024, from 10 am until noon.

NFL Kicker Faces Backlash For Benedictine College Commencement Speech

Last week, a celebrity athlete delivered a speech at a college in Kansas that is now facing serious backlash.

Kansas City Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker delivered a Commencement Speech to the 2024 Graduating Class at Benedictine College in Kansas. The kicker is under scrutiny for most of his speech, but the clip going viral shows the kicker addressing the female graduates in which he declares that they have been told “diabolical lies” about becoming successful in their careers adding that their lives won't truly begin for them until they are wives and mothers.

Butker also went on to criticize President Biden as well as insulting the LGBTQ+ community.

There has been a Change.org petition to have Butker removed from the Kansas City Chiefs. So far there are over 95,000 signatures.
