As of Thursday, January 17th the government has been shutdown for 27 days.

According to CNN, this is the longest government shutdown in US history. Thousands of government workers are going without pay as the shutdown continues, but one Hudson Valley business is hoping to help the best way they can.

On Wednesday, January 16th, actress Hilarie Burton announced that Samuel's Sweet Shop in Rhinebeck would be offering free coffee to for furloughed government workers in the Hudson Valley. Burton, along with her husband Jeffery Dean Morgan and fellow actor Paul Rudd own Samuel's on East Market Street.

If you're government worker just bring in a valid government ID to get your free cup of coffee.

Burton and Morgan are also working on their next installment of Ghost Stories III, which raises money for Astor Services for Children and Families in Rhinebeck. This years show will be held at UPAC in Kingston on February 9th.
