Such a sad story.

According to the Daily Freeman, Jacquelyn Porreca, of Colonie (Albany), died at Albany Medical Center on Sunday, two days after being stabbed at the hair salon where she worked.

Police told the Freeman, that Jacquelyn was put in a medical induced coma after she was stabbed twice in the throat about 4:30 p.m. Friday at Recycled Salon on Sand Creek Road in Colonie. Police told the Times Union that the stabbing apparently happened during a robbery.

Porreca was a 2002 graduate of Windham-Ashland-Jewett High School in Greene County.

As of Monday, police have not arrested anyone.

According to her obituary she was decsribed as “a fun, loving, outgoing person” who enjoyed music, interior decorating and spending time outdoors.
