As much as I love Pumpkin Spice Coffee, I can do without the million other Pumpkin flavored snacks (Oreos? I don't know about that one).  I needed to make sure that I wasn't getting too caught up in the Pumpkin craze and thanks to Buzzfeed, I found a great list of other fun Fall snacks to make.

One caught my eye in particular. I love mixing sweet and salty and this was the perfect recipe to follow. Churro Pretzels. Oh yeah, they're good. I took a crack at it last night and I'm addicted. They're super easy and quick to make and they make a fantastic fall snack.

Here's what you're going to need:

  • 9 cups pretzels (1 bag of the minis)
  • 1 1/2 cups cinnamon chips (found by the chocolate chips)
  • 6 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 cup plus 1 tablespoon powdered sugar
  • 1/2 cup plus 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 3 teaspoons cinnamon
  • parchment or wax paper

And this is what you're going to do:

Step 1: Put pretzels in a large bowl.
Step 2: In another bowl, put your sugars and cinnamon together. Stir until everything is evenly mixed together.
Step 3: Over a low-flame get a sauce pan and add your butter and Cinnamon chips. Make sure you keep stirring, until all your chips are melted. I'd say around 10 minutes. Remove the sauce pan from the heat and pour evenly over the pretzels.
Step 4: Use a wooden spoon to fold the mixture over the pretzels.
Step 5: Quickly add cinnamon and sugar mixture to the bowl of pretzels.
Step 6: Spread pretzels out over parchment paper, let them cool, then..SNACK TIME!

It's a quick and easy recipe, fun for kids and adults alike. For more fun recipes check out the Oh Sweet Basil blog.
