Fall officially began this week and already the leaf spotters throughout New York are hard at work watching as the leaves begin to turn to provide us with a weekly fall foliage report. So, if you love to plan fall weekends based on the leaves changing, this can be a real help.

This week is only the second reporting of the fall season, and while there are some areas where no changes have occurred yet, like in NYC and Long Island, there's changes happening elsewhere.

According to the New York State Office of  Parks, Recreation, and Historic Preservation and I Love NY site, the fall colors we all love so much are just starting to emerge throughout  New York State. The Adirondacks have some areas where the leaves are in mid-change, the Capital-Saratoga area are just beginning, and spotters in the Catskill area think there could be  a 10 to 15 percent change by the weekend.

Here in the Hudson Valley, we are just beginning to some bronze and orange amongst the green. What are the leaves like where you live?
