Don’t Miss The Wolf Moon Tonight
If people are acting a little out of character today, there may be a reason behind it.
According to ABC News, tonight, January 10th 2020 is the night of the first full moon of 2020. It's called The Wolf Moon. NASA research shows that The Wolf Moon will "appearing opposite the Sun at 2:21 p.m. EST. The Moon will appear full for about three days centered on this time, from Thursday morning to Sunday morning."
Why is it called The Wolf Moon? Well, apparently the Algonquin tribes of the northern and eastern parts of the United States came up with the name "from the packs of wolves that howled hungrily outside the villages amid the cold and deep snows of winter."
While the moon will be full at 2:21pm, in the Americas we obviously won't be able to see it. However, NASA says the "Moon will be in the partial shadow of Earth."
If you're trying to get a look at The Wolf Moon tonight, it may be difficult. The forecast calls for mostly cloudy skies tonight and scattered showers.
