Details Revealed About Movie Filming in Village of Wappingers
Camera crews shut down much of the Village of Wappingers early Saturday morning to capture scenes for an upcoming motion picture.
We told you last week about a top-secret movie shoot that was closing down businesses in the area, including Mama Musetti's in the Village of Wappingers. Scenes were shot in the business' dining room on Thursday, but no details were revealed thanks to a gag-order signed with the production company.
On Saturday morning, crews returned to the Village of Wappingers to film scenes on East Main Street, near Grinnell Library. Traffic cones were set up on both sides of the street to stop residents from parking and police cars were positioned up and down the village to control traffic as cameras rolled.
It turns out that the filming is for an upcoming motion picture titled The Winter House starring Lili Taylor. Taylor is best known for her roles as Jojo in Mystic Pizza and John Cusak's friend, Corey, in Say Anything. Taylor also recently appeared in The Maze Runner and The Conjuring.
The film is about a woman named Eileen, played by Taylor, who is grieving and decides that she needs to get away from it all. The character rents a house in New Hampshire during winter, hoping that no one will bother her, but according to the description from IMDB, someone does.
Beth Fowler and Hunter Emery, who both had major roles in the Netflix series, Orange is the New Black, co-star in the film. In addition to shooting scenes in the Village of Wappingers, The Winter House has also been filming on location in the Newburgh area.
