The accident took place early Monday morning near Dutchess County.

According to the South West Daily Voice, a New York City Department of Corrections van overturned on the side of the Taconic State Parkway around 5:30 a.m., Monday, as two officers were traveling northbound near the Pudding Street exit in Putnam County, on the Taconic State Parkway when the van overturned and exited the parkway into a wooded area along side the parkway.

The Putnam Valley Fire Department, local paramedics and the New York State Police all responded to the accident and reported that there were no serious injuries and that the cause of the crash has not been determined as of now.

According to authorities, there were no inmates in the vehicle at the time of the accident and they will make more details available after the investigation is complete.
