August is here, which means summer is winding down. You can enjoy the last days of summer by escaping to one of the most beautiful sunflower farms in the Hudson Valley.

Hudson Valley Cold Pressed Oils is a family owned and operated farm in Pleasant Valley. The Haight Family and Hudson Valley Cold Pressed Oils mission is to produce "health and happiness for your body and soul through the power of sunflowers" according to their website.

We spoke with Jeff Haight about what's new at Hudson Valley Cold Pressed Oils and what we can expect for Hudson Valley sunflower season this August. Jeff told us that at Hudson Valley Cold Press Oils, they just added Gluten-Free Muffin mix, Gluten-Free Pancake mix and Gluten-Free Brownie mix to their sunflower product line-up. Along with the sweet treats, Hudson Valley Cold Pressed Oils is known for their sunflowers and sunflower oils.

For the last few years, Hudson Valley Cold Pressed Oils has hosted a sunflower cutting event.

You and your family can enjoy a beautiful day on the Pleasant Valley farm strolling through their thriving sunflower fields. Admission for the event is completely free. You only have to pay if you leave with anything like sunflower oil products and your freshly cut sunflowers.

The folks at Hudson Valley Cold Pressed Oils are making sure that you'll have the best experience and quality sunflowers. Their letting the plants grow, but expect to be open for sunflower picking the week of August 15th.

There will be food and drink for purchase during the sunflower picking events and on some days there will be live music. On the days with music there is a $5 charge for each car.

Can you just picture yourself enjoying a beautiful Hudson Valley afternoon, picking sunflowers and listening to live music? Sounds like a dream to me.

You can stay up to date with all the sunflower picking information at Hudson Valley Cold Pressed Oils on their Instagram account and Facebook page as well as their website.
