Celebrating Mother’s Day at Christy Cottage

I love to decorate our little home, known as our cottage, for the holidays, specifically the mantle. I think it may have been the mantle that made me fall in love with our house the first time I saw it. I always wanted one so that I could decorate to my heart’s content, and I do.  Every month, I decorate it either for a holiday, someone’s birthday, a special anniversary, or any occasion that needs celebrating.

This month it's all about our moms, grandmas, aunts, and the children who are now grown and who have become moms themselves. We are lucky to have so many women who are very important in our lives. My grandson has begun to help me with the mantles, but this month he declared that only having pictures up was boring and that he couldn't wait for the July 4th mantle. Sigh.
