You Won’t Believe What Happened to These Hudson Valley Residents

Here are five different stories from Hudson Valley residents that might be hard to believe, but are true!

The Hudson Valley is home to hundreds of thousands of people and each of those people is unique in their way. We all have our own life stories and some of us have had some exciting things happen to us over the years.

To get to know the Hudson Valley a little better earlier this week we asked on social media if anyone might be interested in answering this question...

What's Something About Yourself That Sounds Made up But is Real?

After getting a ton of comments we took a little time to read through them and decided to pick out the five stories that made us all say WOW, no WAY!!!

Celebrities Yell at Hudson Valley Woman

Our first story comes from Stephanie who told us that she has been lucky enough to apparently get yelled at by 3 different celebrities, "I've been yelled at by 3 different celebrities":

Weird Al Yankovic (in concert/Colonie, NY)
Rosie Odonell (filming a TV promo)
Mary Tyler Moore (CVS Hyde Park NY)

Groundhog Drops Out of Sky on Hudson Valley Girl's Head

Our second story comes from Ashely who still after many years will never forget the day a groundhog dropped out of the sky and knocked her to the ground,

"I was about 3-4 years old. I was playing on my swing set while my dad was picking veggies from the garden. My dad started calling me saying “Ashley come here look what’s growing!” (Our first pumpkin was growing in the garden) Me, excited as ever started running as fast as I could towards the garden. Next thing I know BAM. I fell to the ground and started screaming and crying with blood running down my face from the top of my head. My dad came running over to see what was wrong and noticed a dead groundhog next to me. He looks up and then sees a vulture. The vulture, DROPPED the groundhog out of its claws, and it just so happened to land a direct hit on top of my head and its teeth/nails were able to cut me. My dad picked me up and called my mom from inside the house and they brought me to the hospital where I needed stitches. Still have the scar to show it and I’m 31 now."

Hudson Valley Woman Tries to Steal Hope Diamond?

Our third story comes from Marika who told us, "I once tripped the alarm on the Hope Diamond at the Smithsonian. Hand to God. I was in Girl Scouts and was 10/11 years old. Let’s just say guards come out of the walls!!!!"

Bear Lands on Woman's Car

Our fourth story was shared by Sharon who told us,

"I had a bear jump from my balcony on my A-frame home to my Ford car underneath and he crushed it. The roof, windshield, hood. The insurance agent did not believe it. Till he saw the police report and the claw marks."

After reading Sharon's story Jessica checked in and told us she might be able to "one-up" her, "Sharon that's crazy! Not as crazy as when my brother ran out of our house one day and bumped right into a black bear on our second-story deck and scared the bear so bad it ran across the deck, jumped over the railing, and left a pee trail the whole way."

Broken Foot Pedicure

Our final story comes courtesy of Katy who told us "I broke my foot getting a pedicure....dude fractured a bone! Even I didn't believe it, walked around in pain for like a week.....went to the doc, and was in a cast/boot for over a month!!!!"
