The Woodstock Farm Sanctuary, a nonprofit in High Falls New York, is hoping the public can help one of their residents, Cat the Sheep, live her best life.

Cat The Sheep Needs a New Prothetic

Cat arrived at the Woodstock Farm Sanctuary back in April of 2023 and when she did, she was given a prosthetic leg that assisted her mobility.  This week the Woodstock Farm Sanctuary updated its followers on social media explaining that while the prosthetic helped, it wasn't quite right.

They explain:

Although Cat was able to use her new leg to get around, it wasn't QUITE the right fit for her. It was too heavy and became too tight fitting, despite our attempts to adjust it.

The staff at the Farm Sanctuary tried everything including making adjustments to another prosthetic they had on hand, but it just wasn't the right fit for Cat.

To ensure that Cat, who is an active sheep that loves playing with her best friends Angel and Murphy, would be able to keep up with the herd Woodstock Farm Sanctuary took her to get x-rays and fitted for a custom prosthetic. The cost of a new leg is $1782. Woodstock Farm Sanctuary adds that once Cat gets the leg she will be able to keep up with her friends again.

Here's How to Help Woodstock Farm Sanctuary in High Falls, NY

Earlier this week, the nonprofit organization asked for help getting Cat her new leg. On Facebook, they shared "Please help us get Cat back on all four feet" and added:

Cat needs a new prosthetic made. Her old one no longer fits properly, and it's slowed her down so much that she can't keep up with the rest of the herd. Cat is happiest when she's able to stick with the herd -- whether that means relaxing in the barn or roaming the sanctuary. We had her limb re-casted this week for a new prosthetic, but the gear itself will cost us $1782. We're about a quarter of the way there, and we need your support!
