Winter Weather Advisory in Effect For Parts of the Hudson Valley
While some of the Hudson Valley only saw some rain showers this morning, others got a little bit of snow, while some folks are getting a mix of both, making for some dangerous road conditions.
The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for Sullivan County until 6 pm on Wednesday. What can you expect from this system?
These areas could see snowfall on and off throughout the mid-day and while only 1 or 2 inches of accumulations are expected, snow squalls could be possible this afternoon resulting in low visibility and roads quickly becoming snow covered. In addition, more snow tonight, in some areas lake effect snow, could add 2 to 4 inches of snow.
The wind will also be a factor, with gusts up to 35 MPH and with overnight temperatures falling to the mid-teens, windchill will be a factor. So bundle up before heading out.
With all of these factors, you should expect slippery road conditions with periods of reduced visibility. You can find out the latest road conditions in your area by calling 5-1-1.
