Watch How The Oscars Statue is Made in the Hudson Valley
It's award season, so we're prepping for the big show this weekend.
The Oscars are this Sunday on starting with the red carpet at 4pm and the show starting at 8pm. Yes, a very long day of glitz and glamour for our Hollywood friends. There are some great films nominated this year like Hidden Figures, Manchester By the See and Fences. You'll see the likes of Natalie Portman, Ryan Gosling, Denzel Washington, Dev Patel and Viola Davis in attendance and a little, but important, piece from the Hudson Valley.
The official Oscar statue that the stars win is made in the Hudson Valley. Every January, the Polich Tallix Fine Art Foundry in Rock Tavern out in Orange County starts creating the Oscar statuette. Last night The Oscars posted a behind the scenes video to the making of the Oscar statue to get you even more excited for the show on Sunday:
Last year, Hudson Valley Post and New York Representative Sean Patrick Maloney made a stop at the factory for their own behind the scenes tour:
Who do you want to see take home a Hudson Valley made Oscar this Sunday?
