Volunteers Sought to Help Deliver Meals to Seniors
If you have been looking for ways to give back to your community or you have always wanted to volunteer for something but don't feel that you have enough time, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.
For many seniors, having meals delivered to their home is a lifesaver, especially during the winter months. With some of the volunteers for the Home Delivered Meals program offered by the Dutchess County Office of the Aging being snowbirds and heading south for the winter, the program could use some individuals who could fill in during these winter months and help keep our seniors fed.
Talk about giving back to the community and giving of yourself this holiday season. If you or someone you know is able to help, please call Nutrition Coordinator Nimesh Bhargava at firstname.lastname@example.org or (845) 486-2555.
In addition, with 8 Senior Friendship Centers around the county, in Beacon, East Fishkill, Millerton, Pawling, the City of Poughkeepsie, the Town of Poughkeepsie, Rhinebeck (Rock City), and South Amenia, they could also use some volunteers to help staff these centers during the winter as well. If this is more to your interests, please call the Office of the Aging at (845) 486-2555 to find out more.
