Visit the Old Croton Aqueduct Trail This April

Are you looking for the perfect way to explore the Hudson Valley while learning some of its deep history?

On Saturday April 13th the New York Adventure Club will be hosting a tour of one of the most "impressive modern marvels" in New York State. The Old Croton Aqueduct. The aqueduct was  New York City’s first water supply system that was built between 1837 and 1842.

The Facebook event page states that the Old Croton Aqueduct is "believed to be the second-largest man-made limestone structure in the world, behind the Pyramids of Giza in Egypt."

The hike will take between 4 and 5 hours and is flat, but it is recommended that hikers wear comfortable shoes, bring water and snacks.

Hikers will be given rare access inside the maintenance chamber that will allow those on the adventure to get a look at the original aqueduct from the inside. The hike will begin at 10:30am at the Croton Harmon Train Station.
