If you are a veteran in Ulster County you may want to check out this free event.

According to the Daily Freeman, the Ulster County Veterans Service Agency will host, what they are calling, a Veterans “Stand Down” on Friday, August 19th, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. It will all happen at the Business Resource Center at Development Court right off of Ulster Avenue.

The event is set up to help veterans with benefits and it will also giver them an opportunity to network and visit with friends.

The "Stand Down" will also feature a VA clinic, employment and legal assistance, and a chance to take a look at military surplus clothing for those in need.

The event is free for all veterans, refreshments and lunch will be served and they will have live music by Thunder Ridge at noon.

If you are a veteran and would like to attend this great event but don't have a way to get there, you can call the Ulster County Veterans Service Agency at 845-340-3190 to set up a ride to the event.
