Kingston, New York Student Wins I VOTED Sticker Design Contest

You would have to live way off the grid and possibly not know what year it is to not know that this is an election year in America. It is pretty much all people are talking about these days.

I am not here to talk politics but instead, I am here to congratulate a person who may be the reason some folks actually get out and vote. It is not a bribe but it is a great reward for doing something that is important in our great country. I am not on my soap box but let's remember there are places in the world where people don't get to choose who governs.

Ulster County Held A Design Contest for the Ulster County I VOTED Sticker

Ok so enough about that and more about a contest held in Ulster County. The I VOTED sticker contest. I remember the first time I ever noticed this contest. It was 2022 and it was because the winner of the contest had come up with a pretty outrageous sticker that soon became a collectible.

Typically when you vote there is some sort of sticker that you can grab when you're done that you can then sport that says you did your part on election day. I think it is brilliant that Ulster County has elevated this to create a sticker that is fun to wear.

Who Won the Ulster County, NY I VOTED Sticker Contest 2024

So what doesn't this year's sticker look like? My interpretation is that it is a pink cat giving the thumbs up but the true description would be left up to the winning artist. This year that title goes to Tess Gallo from Miller Middle School in the Kingston School District.

The contest was announced in July and the winner was chosen by a voting process which end this month. It was one vote person and over 9000 people voted on the various designs which were all awesome may I say, Tess however came out on top.

How Do I Get an Ulster County I VOTED Sticker

So when you finish voting in Ulster County you can see her design in person when you receive your I VOTED sticker. According to The Ulster County Government, these stickers will also be available at early voting which starts on Saturday, October 26th, 2024. Find out more about early voting here.
