Two teens were charged early Monday (February 20) morning on drug possession charges.

According to a press release from the Dutchess County Sheriffs Office David Chen, 19 of Massachusetts and Eric Diaz 18 of New York City were stopped in the Town of Red Hook at approximately 2:10. Deputies stopped the vehicle that the two suspects were riding in after the driver failed to turn off his high beams while passing on coming traffic. Chen and Diaz were passengers in the vehicle.

After further investigation and interviews the officers discovered approximately 12 grams of suspected cocaine. Diaz and Chen were then taken into custody and charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the 3rd degree, which is a class B felony. The driver of the vehicle was identified as 21 year old Kyle Davis of Charleston, South Carolina.  Davis was charged with a traffic violation and for being in the possession of a small amount of marijuana.

All three suspects were released with appearance tickets after being processed,they are set to return to Red Hook Court on March 23rd.
