This Will Happen in the Hudson Valley for the First Time in 2023 Today
If you are like most and have had enough of the colder months and are looking forward to a great spring and summer this extraordinary event will definitely put a smile on your face.
It has been a long, cold, hard winter, and if you've had enough of icing mornings and it being dark at 4:30 in the afternoon get ready to scream for joy as for the first time in 2023 we are preparing for something that hasn't happened since last year.
Sunset is After 8 p.m.
HALLELUJAH!!! Today, May 10th, 2023 marks the first time since last year that the sun will set after 8 p.m. according to the Time and Date website. It will be the first time it has happened since August 9th, 2022 and most of New York is thrilled that days will stay brighter longer. May 10th sunrise happened at 5:44 a.m. and will set at 8:01 p.m. giving us a glimpse of the sun into the night.

The sunsetting after 8 p.m. is a sign that summer is on the way and we can all begin to plan outside activities later into the evening. There's nothing better than spending an evening outside around the grill cooking up a great meal, eating, and then taking a nice after-dinner walk around the neighborhood.
We will be lucky enough to enjoy sunsets happening after 8 p.m. until somewhere around August 10th, 2023. Sunsets take a turn in the opposite direction and by November the sun will set as early as 4:30 p.m. So today is the day to start making plans to do more things outside because before you know it, it'll be cold and dark again...LOL!
