Velveeta Cheese was Born in Monroe

If you've ever enjoyed the "goodness" known as Velveeta cheese, you might not know that it was actually born in Monroe. Carrie let us know that back in the early 1900s Velveeta was invented by Emil Frey of the Monroe Cheese Company located in Monroe. For 4 years the popular cheese company made Velveeta in Monroe until it was sold to Kraft foods in 1927. She mentioned that there is a sign in front of the building where the cheese was invented, "it's near the pond" she said. Not sure where the sign is exactly, but if you live in the Monroe area and can tell us where, please send us a message through the Wolf country app.
