Steve Moakler was involved in an accident on Thursday (April 26), while on the road for his 2018 Born Ready Tour. He and his band and crew were headed for Asheville, N.C.; they were scheduled to play the Grey Eagle on Thursday night.

In an Instagram post, Moakler reveals that he was behind the wheel when the "scary accident" took place. The picture he shared, of his tour van's smashed-up front driver's side door looks pretty bad, but he says that "[w]ith the exception of a few minor bruises, cuts and burns, everyone is miraculously okay."

"Thanking God and his angels for protecting us and everyone else on the road," Moakler adds. "I’m SO happy to be alive."

Moakler did not share further details about the accident. In a video update, he thanked fans for the well wishes and shared that, thanks to some nearby family, Thursday night's show in Asheville would go on as scheduled; however, his Friday night (April 27) concert in Myrtle Beach, S.C., at the Boathouse, is canceled because the accident "totally knocked out our transportation."

Moakler's 2018 Born Ready Tour began in late March and is scheduled to run through mid-May. His fifth studio album, Born Ready, is due out on June 15.
