You are most likely to be going to a few holiday parties over the next couple of days. If you go to a party and are thinking about having a few adult beverages, please don't drink and drive.

Governor Andrew Cuomo announced that starting today (Friday 12/18) the New York State Police are starting to focus on the police program "Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over".

According to the Times Herald Record, drivers thru out the state can expect to see sobriety checkpoints and increased patrols today thru New Years Day.

Gov. Cuomo said,

New York State has zero tolerance for drunk driving and the preventable tragedies it causes

The NYS Police will not only be ramping up the drunk driving program they will also be looking for distracted drivers using cell phones, seat belt violations and drivers violating the Move Over Law.

Another reminder that if you are going to drink this holiday season, do the right thing and have a designated driver.
