Many of us have walked over The Walkway Over the Hudson during their daily hours. The World's Longest Elevated Pedestrian Bridge is opened daily from 7 am until sunset.

But have you ever experienced the Walkway at night? If not, now you can!

Starting in April, guests will be able to take a stroll under the moonlight over the iconic Walkway Over the Hudson on select dates.

Members of the Walkway can access the pedestrian bridge at nightfall for free, non-members will have to purchase a $5 ticket online or at the gate. Children 12 and under are free.

Friday, April 11 - 7:30-9:00 p.m.
Friday, May 9 - 8:00-9:30 p.m.
Friday, June 13 - 8:30-10:00 p.m.
Saturday, July 26 - 8:30-10:00 p.m.
Friday, August 8 - 8:00-9:30 p.m.
Friday, September 5 - 7:30-9:00 p.m.
Friday, October 10 - 6:30-8:00 p.m.

Stargaze From 212 feet above the Hudson River

While just walking across the Walkway at night is relaxing and enjoyable itself, it the weather cooperates there will be a special addition.

According to the Walkway Over the Hudson on Facebook the Mid-Hudson Astronomical Association will be on hand with telescopes to get a close up of the night sky.

The Mid-Hudson Astronomical Association is a non-profit group of amateur astronomy enthusiasts from the region.

Northern Lights Light Up The Hudson Valley Sky

You never really know what you're going to see across the Hudson Valley sky at night.

Of course there are those infamous stories of UFO's soaring across the sky, but on the non-paranormal side of things we've seen a new trend.
As of late the mid-Hudson region has been able to see the Northern Lights. In 2024 there were 2 solar flares that had everyone outside trying to snap the perfect photos of purples, greens and blues splattered across the sky.

For the most part, the Northern Lights in the Hudson Valley aren't visible by the naked eye, cameras and cell phone lenses are able to capture some really cool sights.

The most recent Northern Light sighting was March 25th, 2025, but it wasn't at strong as past flares.

Maybe the Northern Lights will return for The Walkway at Night 2025!
