Spirit Christmas Opens in Poughkeepsie for the 2025 Holiday Season

Goodbye Halloween, Hello Holiday Season Spirit Christmas is Back

In August 2025, whispers started of Spirit Christmas making a return to the Hudson Valley.

As Spirit Halloween opened, locals were looking toward the future and the holiday season. While there was no solid answer in August, as September rolled around we got the news we were waiting for.

Spirit Christmas would return to Poughkeepsie, but at a new location. In 2024 the holiday shop opened at the old Bed, Bath and Beyond on Route 9 in Poughkeepsie across from the Galleria.

This year, Spirit Christmas was putting their roots down in The Shoppes at South Road at 1895 South Road in Poughkeepsie.  At the time is was filled to the brim with Halloween décor, but now that Halloween is over the tides have changed. 

Spirit Christmas New Poughkeepsie Location is Now Open

As soon as the last cobweb decoration was packed up, Spirit Halloween quickly flipped the switch to Spirit Christmas.

According to a press release, all 30 Spirit Christmas locations officially opened on Tuesday November 11th, 2025.

As any holiday season fan would do, I strolled around Spirit Christmas on opening day to see what they have to offer this year. Take a look at some of the festive décor I came across below:

It should be noted that as of November 11th, while Spirit Christmas was officially open, they were still unloading a ton of their merchandise.

Meet Santa at Spirit Christmas in Poughkeepsie, New York

If you're kids are chomping at the bit to meet Santa Claus, Spirit Christmas has you covered.

Guests can hang out with Santa starting on November 21st, 2025 and you can make a reservation so you're not hanging around waiting.

If you visit Spirit Christmas before Santa arrives, no problem at all! Take a walk down Peppermint Lane and find the Peppermint Post Office. There you'll find post cards to fill out and send to Santa right away!

Spirit Christmas is opened daily from 10 am until 9 pm.
