It's not unlikely that when you hear an artist interview they say they got their start song writing. Some of your favorites on the radio right now, wrote some pretty successful songs for other artist in the past.

For example, did you know Cole Swindell wrote Luke Bryan's "Roller Coaster" (as well as many other Luke songs) and Thomas Rhetts' "Get Me Some of That"? He also has a writing credit on Florida Georgia Lines "This is How We Roll."  Lets focus on two of my favorites, Chris Stapleton and Sam Hunt.

Yeah sure, people give Sam Hunt a hard time about not sounding country enough. Sam however, is responsible for some great songs:

Cop Car: The song you hear by Keith Urban was penned by Mr. Hunt

I Met A Girl: Recently released to radio by William Michael Morgan was also written by Sam.

Come Over: The widely popular Kenny Cheseney song was originally written by Sam as a love song to me. . . Okay the last bit isn't true, but hey I tried.

Chris Stapelton who is fairly new in the country scene has actually been writing for years. He's written some huge hits including:

Darius Rucker's "Come Back Song" Chris Stapleton has the writers credit on that bad boy.

Fun Fact: Thomas Rhett's "Crash and Burn" was written by Stapleton. Who knew?

And one that Chris got a lot of recognition for, is Luke Bryan's "Drink a Beer."

Song writers do get credit, but sometimes they don't get enough. So cheers to all the song writers out there doing their thing and providing us with awesome tunes.
