Extended Road Closure For Drivers On Route 312 In New York
There is nothing that can screw up your trip to work more than a road closure. The unexpected ones are unpleasant but planned ones can be just as frustrating.
Our area has a lot of road work going on. It is the time of year when crews are out trying to fix roads that may have gotten beat up this past winter. It is also the time that big processes get scheduled which in the long run will make our drive better.
Road Closure in Putnam County Expected to Last 4 Days
One planned closure which is also being referred to as an extended closure due to the amount of time the road will be closed will affect Route 312 in Putnam County. On August 9th a closure will start around Midnight on August 9th, 2024 on Route 312 at Ice Pond Rd (Dykeman Railroad Crossing).
If you are one of the people who travel this route you can expect a detour through 4 PM on August 12, 2024. This work is necessary in order to replace a railroad crossing.

The Putnam County Bureau of Emergency Services shared this information on social media last week. It included the following maps to help motorists with a detour during the closure.
