Putnam County SPCA Investigating Animal Cruelty
The team at the Brewster Veterinary Hospital reached out to The Putnam County SPCA and the animal cruelty investigation began.
In the statement the Putnam County SPCA shares that "during the initial examination, significant swelling, irritation, and injuries were observed around the dogs muzzle."
They add:
Abrasions were found to the front and back of the dog’s neck in the area where a collar would normally rest, raising concerns that the dog may have previously worn an embedded collar that had been removed prior to her being abandoned.
