E-Cigarettes are everywhere nowadays and now politicians are getting involved.

According to the Daily Freeman, Senator Chuck Schumer announced that he is calling on the federal government to investigate cases of exploding electronic cigarettes.

According to the Senator there has been at least four cases in New York, in the last week, of electronic cigarettes suddenly exploding or burst into flames.

Recently it was announced that new federal regulations give the Food and Drug Administration the power to investigate the incidents and require warning labels on the product, if the FDA determines that the devices are a risk to consumers.

The FDA also has the power to require product recalls, which could be the case with some brands of E-cigarettes.

Early this month, the federal government announced that it will now subject electronic cigarettes to regulations requiring the company's that make the cigarettes to now submit their products for review before they can be sold.

The new rules will now also prohibit sales of e-cigarettes to anyone under age 18.
