A Dutchess County high school has been places under lock down.

The Poughkeepsie Journal is reporting that Poughkeepsie High School has been placed on lock down as of 9:59am Thursday, October 25th.

There is a sign on the door of the high school stating that they are in lock down and not letting anyone in. Police are not releasing any information regarding the lock down. Poughkeepsie's superintendent Kathleen Farrell told the Journal they would release a statement when they are done with what they are calling a "procedure."

We will update this story when more information becomes available.

On Monday, police investigated an incident regarding a possible weapon at an after school program at Poughkeepsie Middle School. There was no "credible threat to students, faculty, or staff existed, based on the information."

Last week Arlington high school, also located in Dutchess County, was placed on lock down after a threat was called in to 911.
