The recent strings of bank robberies in the local area continues to grow.

Yonkers Police say a man robbed the Chase Bank on Nepperhan Avenue around 12:15 p.m. Monday.

Authorities were told that a man entered the bank, approached a teller, and handed a note to the teller. He later fled the bank with an unknown amount of money.

An extensive search of the area was performed by patrol units and members of the Detective Division, but the suspect was not located.

The suspect is described as approximately 30 to years old with short black hair. He was seen carrying a black backpack and was wearing blue pants with a white stripe down the legs and white sneakers.

Yesterday a man robbed bank in Wallkill. Last week there were reports of bank robberies in East Fishkill, Middletown, and Haverstraw. It’s possible the crimes were committed by the same suspect.
