According to the Times Herald Record, a Sullivan County man was killed in his home in Swan Lake on Monday.

Michael Northcote was killed Monday night at his home and the Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office is now saying it was a homicide.

Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office responded to a 911 call to the family home at 177 Cohen and Cohen Road around 9:30 p.m Monday. That is where deputies found Northcote's body.

The sheriff’s office told the Record that they are still investigating the homicide and will be conducting an autopsy as soon as possible. They did not say how Northcote was killed or identified a motive.

Sheriff’s deputies and New York state police canvassed the area of the family home Monday night and Tuesday morning and cars that were driving past the home were stopped and the occupants questioned during the day Tuesday about whether they had seen or heard anything.

The Sheriff's office did say they are following up on several leads and said that there is no danger to the public.
