The Hudson Valley is made up of many small towns. Each one has its own story. Milton, New York located in Ulster County on the west shore of the Hudson River has a history dating back to 1712.

According to the town's Wikipedia page, Captain Willaim Bond was the first to settle in Milton after obtaining a patent from Queen Anne. I believe a patent is similar to a lease in today's terms.

So what is it you the reader told us we have to do in Milton? Looking back at all your comments there are a few that stand out. The Ship Lantern Inn is a place I know well. Many family celebration dinners took place for my tribe at this wonderful restaurant. It made the comments as a place not to miss. Buttermilk Falls Inn & Spa is another great gathering spot, plus their restaurant Henry's currently located on Main Street in town.
